Benefits
of Saunas
| |
Burns
Calories: Because of the increased metabolic rates and
the energy required for sweating, up to 300 calories can be
expended in a single sauna session which is roughly
equivalent to running 2-3 miles. |
| |
Conditions
Your Heart: The heart rate increases when the body is
exposed to high temperatures, which also improves the
circulation. |
| |
Relaxes
Muscles: Saunas can also give temporary relief to the
pain of arthritis and rheumatism. |
| |
Flushes
Toxins: Through sweating, the barrel sauna can help
remove unhealthy elements. |
| |
Cleanses
Skin: Will give you a more youthful appearance. With the
opening of the pores and cleansing of the skin, you will not
only have cleaner skin, it will look better also. |
| |
Relieves
Stress: It helps to relax and offers relief from every
day stress and anxiety in our lives. |
| |
Induces
Relaxing and Deep Sleep: Saunas can help those having
difficulty sleeping to a more relaxed, sound sleep. |
| |
Aromatherapy:
Provides fast congestive relief. |

The Barrel Sauna
experience is different for everyone.
There is surprisingly little
awareness of the wide range of barrel sauna benefits. This 2000
year old tradition is enjoyed by people who appreciate the
physical and mental benefits of dry heat or steam bathing. The
combination of body perspiration, rest and rapid cooling
stimulates circulation, reduces muscular and nervous tension,
and for many, heightens mental awareness. The barrel sauna
provides an environment for mental and physical health.

|
Use of the Barrel Sauna
There are a few precautions to
keep in mind. Because of the increase of cardiovascular activity
caused by the heat, sweat therapy is not recommended for people
with heart disease or other cardiovascular problems. Individuals
with high blood pressure should consult their doctor.
|
| In addition, saunas are not
advised for pregnant women, small children, or the elderly.
Limit time to 10 to 15 minutes. Drink plenty of water before and
after the sweat bath to replace fluids lost during the
treatment. |
If you experience dizziness,
problems with breathing, or a general feeling of ill health,
leave the sauna. Enjoy your sauna's healthy environment but do
not push your body beyond it's comfort level.
